Privacy policy — Ecleptic

Who we are

Ecleptic is an iOS wellness app (sleep, nutrition, physical activity). Data controller: the publisher of Ecleptic, who can be reached at contact@ecleptic.app (see the legal notice).

Data we collect

• Account: your Sign in with Apple identifier (hidden or real email, as you choose). No password is stored.
• Health and activity: sleep, activity and vitals read from Apple Health, read-only and only with your explicit permission. Ecleptic never writes to Apple Health and never uses this data for advertising.
• Nutrition: meals you log and meal photos you choose to have analysed.
• Contributions (optional): photos of nutrition labels, food entries you create, corrections and reports. An entry stays private until you submit it for review; once approved, only the product's nutrition values are published, with no link to your account, and never the photo.
• Profile: age, height, weight, goal, answers to in-app questionnaires.
• Gym: at the end of a strength session recorded live, if you allow location access, the nearest open gym is recognised and its name saved with the session.
• Usage and stability: anonymised usage events (PostHog) and crash reports (Sentry), to improve the app.

How we use it

Your data is used only to make Ecleptic work: calculating your scores, Lab analyses, coach advice, tracking your goals. It is never sold or rented, and never used for ad targeting.

AI analysis

Meal photos, nutrition label photos and some summaries (coach) are processed by AI models hosted by providers (Google, Anthropic). Only the content needed for the analysis is sent; under their business API terms, it is not used to train their models.

Hosting and processors

• Supabase — database and authentication.
• RevenueCat — subscription management (no payment data passes through us: payment is handled by Apple).
• PostHog (EU) — usage analytics. Sentry — error reports.
• Google Maps — gym recognition: receives an area of about 110 m around your position, never your exact position or your identity. Until 27 September 2026, the app queried OpenStreetMap (Overpass service) directly for this.

Retention

Your data is kept as long as your account is active. Deleting your account purges your personal data from our active systems.

Label photo: kept only if you submit your entry for review, until the decision and for 90 days at most. The AI's reading of the label, with no link to your account: 30 days. Approved and published values remain in the food database after your account is deleted, with no link to it.

Your rights (GDPR)

From the app settings, you can export all your data and delete your account and data at any time. For any other request (access, rectification, objection): contact@ecleptic.app. You can also lodge a complaint with the CNIL, the French data protection authority, or with your local data protection authority.

Minimum age

Ecleptic is for people aged 16 and over. Some features (body composition scan, coach) are for adults only.
